Fuel Cells
Hydrogen fuel cells whether hydrogen or methanol provide a clean, environmentally friendly and reliable means of generating electricity in areas not served by the mains electricity network. This may be in applications where solar PV is not viable, such as locations in forests, or where solar PV alone will not provide sufficient power in the worst winter months, when they may be used in conjunction with solar PV in a hybrid system.
Hydrogen fuel cells also offer a realistic and practical alternative to diesel generators and very large battery banks for standby power applications.
Dabbrook has been involved in exciting pioneering work on the development of practical applications for this emerging technology. Working with the Environment Agency and BOC Industrial Gases, we have designed, built and installed a power supply system that features a hydrogen fuel cell working with solar modules to operate a river level control structure.
This work has given Dabbrook practical experience in the design, installation and servicing of these systems.
